Timed and booked-in delivery

Delivery to a set window, including booked-in slots at distribution centres. Regular and contract runs on the same basis.

Timed delivery from Birmingham to any UK postcode: your goods arrive in the window you set, whether that is a deadline such as before 14:00, a two-hour slot, or a booked-in appointment at a distribution centre. The vehicle is dedicated to your load, so the plan is built around your time rather than a multi-drop route, and the driver is not squeezing your delivery between other customers' stops.

UK Pro Deliveries runs 25 vans from Smethwick, next to the M5 and M6, with lorries through our carriers network when a load is bigger than a van. The office works 24/7/365, every vehicle is GPS tracked and each delivery closes with a photo and a signed proof of delivery, which matters when a slot time is on the booking.

How our timed and booked-in service works

Choose Book in advance on the price form, enter the postcodes and the van price appears instantly. Add the collection date and the delivery window or booking reference, the goods and the contacts at both ends. If the site needs a booking reference, vehicle registration or driver details in advance, tell us at booking and we send them. The team checks the plan and confirms the collection time that meets your window.

We plan backwards from the delivery time, allowing for loading, the road and a margin for traffic on the M6 or M42. The driver collects at the planned time, the load is the only one on board and the van goes straight to the delivery address. You can see the vehicle on GPS throughout, and if a site runs late at collection the office tells you before it affects the delivery slot.

At the delivery point the driver reports to goods-in with the booking reference, unloads where needed and gets the paperwork signed. A photo and a signed proof of delivery are taken and sent to you digitally the same day, with the time recorded, so you have evidence the slot was met. Waiting time is free for the first 30 minutes at each end.

Get a price for timed and booked-in

A timed delivery is priced on the road distance and the van size, and the online price for vans is instant when you enter the postcodes. A tight window or an early-morning slot can change which driver and start time we need, so the team confirms any difference before booking. Waiting time beyond the free period and extra drops are charged at the rates in our Conditions of Carriage.

Booked-in slots at distribution centres

Most distribution centres and large warehouses accept vehicles only in a pre-booked slot, and a missed slot can mean a rejected delivery or a long wait for the next gap. Give us the booking reference, the slot time and any site rules when you book, and we plan the collection to arrive inside the window with a margin for traffic.

Our drivers know the common requirements: high-visibility clothing, vehicle checks at the gate, waiting in the marshalling area and the goods-in paperwork. If a site keeps the vehicle beyond the free 30 minutes, waiting time is charged at the rate in our Conditions of Carriage, which is why the slot details and site contact are worth getting right at booking.

Regular and contract runs

The same collection every morning, a weekly run to a customer's warehouse, a month-end delivery to a store group: regular work is run on the same dedicated basis as a one-off job, with the same team where we can. You get one point of contact, one invoice and the same proof of delivery every time, without rebooking each run.

Tell us the run is regular when you ask for a price and the team prices the whole schedule rather than each leg. Daily, weekly and monthly patterns all work, and the plan can flex when your volumes change. Regular customers also get first call on vans at busy times.

Timed and booked-in FAQ

What kind of delivery times can you work to?

A deadline (by 10:00), a window (08:00 to 10:00) or a fixed booked-in slot at a distribution centre. Tell us the time when you book and we plan the collection to meet it.

Can you deliver into a booked slot at a distribution centre?

Yes. Give us the booking reference, slot time and any site rules at booking. We send vehicle and driver details in advance where the site asks for them and the driver reports to goods-in with the reference.

What happens if the site keeps the driver waiting?

The first 30 minutes at each end are free. After that, waiting time is charged per hour at the rate in our Conditions of Carriage: £15 for vans up to extra long wheelbase and £20 for a Luton.

Do you run regular or contract work?

Yes, daily, weekly or monthly runs on the same dedicated basis, priced as a whole schedule and with the same drivers where possible. Say the job is regular when you ask for a price.

Can I book for tomorrow or next week?

Yes. Choose Book in advance on the price form, pick the date and time, and the booking is held. The office runs 24/7/365, so early, late and weekend slots are all available.

How do I prove the delivery arrived on time?

Every delivery is GPS tracked and closed with a photo and a signed proof of delivery with the time recorded, sent to you the same day. The paper copy is available on request.

Why choose UPD for timed and booked-in?

  • Planned around your time. A dedicated vehicle means the schedule is built backwards from your delivery window, not fitted around other drops.
  • Distribution centre experience. Booking references, gate procedures and goods-in paperwork handled by drivers who do it daily.
  • 24/7/365 office. Early, late, weekend and bank holiday slots are all bookable, with someone to call while the van is moving.
  • GPS tracked. Watch the vehicle on the road and get a call from the office if anything threatens the slot.
  • Timed proof of delivery. Photo and signed POD with the time recorded, sent the same day, so the slot is evidenced.
  • Regular runs welcome. Daily, weekly and monthly schedules priced as a whole, with the same team on the run.
