ADR dangerous goods and lithium batteries
ADR-trained drivers. Dangerous goods carried in line with the UK regulations for the carriage of dangerous goods by road, declared in writing before booking.
ADR courier from Birmingham for dangerous goods and lithium batteries, carried in line with the UK regulations for the carriage of dangerous goods by road. Four of our drivers hold full ADR training and the goods travel on a dedicated van, never co-loaded with another customer's freight. Every consignment is declared in writing before booking so that the right driver, vehicle and equipment are assigned.
UK Pro Deliveries is based in Smethwick with the M5, M6 and M42 close by, and covers every UK postcode 24/7/365. Jobs are GPS tracked and closed with a photo and a signed proof of delivery. Where a load is too large for a 3.5 tonne van, we arrange an ADR-compliant lorry through our carriers network and manage it for you.
We transport:
- Lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, packed alone, with or in equipment
- Paints, coatings, adhesives and solvents
- Aerosols and pressurised containers
- Flammable liquids in drums and containers
- Corrosives, acids and cleaning chemicals
- Limited quantity packages of mixed classes
- Laboratory and industrial chemicals
- Fuels, oils and lubricants in approved packaging
How our adr and lithium batteries service works
Before we can quote, send the UN number, class and packing group where it applies, the number of packages and the net quantity per package, whether the goods are packed as limited quantity, and the Safety Data Sheet. Use the price form and add the details in the goods notes, or email them to the office. The team checks the consignment, assigns an ADR driver and confirms the price and the collection time in writing.
The driver arrives with the vehicle equipped for the class being carried and checks the packaging, marking and labelling against the transport document before loading. Goods that do not match the declaration are not loaded. The consignment travels alone on the vehicle, secured and segregated as the regulations require, and the van is GPS tracked from collection to delivery with the office in contact throughout.
At delivery the driver hands over the transport document with the goods, unloads where needed and takes a photo and a signature. The signed proof of delivery is sent to you digitally the same day, with the paper copy available on request. Collection is within 30 to 60 minutes once the consignment is confirmed and an ADR driver is assigned, or at the booked time on an advance booking.
Get a price for adr and lithium batteries
An ADR delivery is priced on the road distance and the van size, and the online price shows the van rate for your route instantly. Because the driver, vehicle and equipment depend on the class and quantity declared, the team confirms the final price in writing before collection. Out-of-hours work, waiting time beyond the free period and extra drops are charged at the rates in our Conditions of Carriage.

What you must give us
The consignor is responsible for classifying, packing, marking and labelling the goods and for providing the transport document. We need the UN number (for example UN3480 for lithium ion batteries), the class, the packing group where one applies, the number of packages and the net quantity in each, and whether the goods are packed as limited quantity. The Safety Data Sheet must come with the request.
The transport document must be ready at collection. Goods that are not correctly classified, packed, marked, labelled and documented, or that were not declared in writing before booking, are not carried, and a wasted journey is charged. Getting the paperwork right first time is the quickest way to get the goods moving.
Lithium batteries
Lithium batteries are the most common dangerous goods we carry: new batteries for installers, power tool packs, e-bike and mobility batteries, and cells for manufacturers. Tell us the battery type (lithium ion or lithium metal), whether they are packed alone, packed with equipment or contained in equipment, the watt-hour rating or lithium content where it applies, and the total weight.
Correctly packed batteries travel on the same dedicated basis as our other work with an ADR driver on board. Damaged, defective or recalled batteries, and batteries being returned for disposal, need separate arrangements and must be declared as such, so tell us at the start and the team will confirm what can be carried and how.
ADR and lithium batteries FAQ
Are your drivers ADR trained?
Yes. Four of our drivers hold full ADR training and every dangerous goods consignment is assigned to one of them, with the vehicle equipped for the class being carried.
Can you carry lithium batteries?
Yes, lithium ion and lithium metal batteries that are correctly classified and packed, whether alone, with equipment or in equipment. Tell us the type, packing and total weight. Damaged or defective batteries need separate arrangements.
What information do you need before booking?
The UN number, class and packing group, the number of packages and net quantity per package, whether the goods are limited quantity, and the Safety Data Sheet. Everything must be declared in writing before booking.
Can I get an instant online price for ADR goods?
The online price gives the van rate for the route, but ADR work is confirmed by the team once the declaration is checked, because the driver, vehicle and equipment depend on the goods.
Are dangerous goods co-loaded with other freight?
Never. The consignment travels alone on a dedicated vehicle, secured and segregated as the regulations require, straight from collection to delivery with no depot handling.
Can you move a full load of dangerous goods?
Up to eight pallets on our extra long Luton with an ADR driver. Larger loads are arranged on an ADR-compliant lorry through our carriers network and managed by our office.
