We move:

  • ADR-trained drivers. Dangerous goods carried in line with the UK regulations for the carriage of dangerous goods by road.
  • What we need from you. UN number, class, packing group, quantity and the Safety Data Sheet before we quote.
  • Dedicated vehicle. Your goods travel alone, not shared with other loads.
  • Declared in writing. Dangerous goods are declared in writing before booking, correctly classified, packed, marked and documented.

What batteries and dangerous goods customers move with us

Battery makers, electric vehicle suppliers, energy storage firms and laboratories across the Midlands move lithium ion cells and packs under UN3480, batteries packed with or in equipment under UN3481, and other classified goods such as paints, adhesives, aerosols and small quantities of chemicals. These travel on our dedicated vans up to 3.5 tonnes from Smethwick to every UK postcode, with four of our drivers holding full ADR.

The usual problems are a shared network that refuses the load, a driver who is not trained to carry it and paperwork that does not match the goods. We carry dangerous goods in line with the UK regulations for the carriage of dangerous goods by road. Every job is one load on one vehicle, never co-loaded, so your consignment is not mixed with incompatible freight. We run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

How a booking works

Booking works differently from a standard job. Dangerous goods are declared in writing before booking, with the UN number, class, packing group, quantity and the Safety Data Sheet. Our team checks the declaration, confirms an ADR-trained driver and vehicle, and quotes the job. Once agreed, collection can be within 30 to 60 minutes where a driver is available. The van is GPS tracked and our operations team keeps you informed as the job runs.

Have ready the proper shipping name, UN number, class and packing group for each item, the net quantity, the number and type of packages, the SDS and the emergency contact number for the consignment. Goods must be correctly classified, packed, marked and labelled before collection. Add a contact name and phone number for each site. The driver takes a photo and a signature at delivery, and both are sent to you as proof of delivery.
