About the role
UK Pro Deliveries carries dangerous goods for UK businesses in line with the UK regulations for the carriage of dangerous goods by road. We have 4 ADR drivers today and want more as the work grows. Every load is dedicated, never co-loaded, and the office checks the declaration before the job is booked.
You drive a 3.5 t van from our base in Smethwick, West Midlands. Jobs range from same-day collections within the hour to planned runs across the UK. You check the packing, marking and paperwork at collection and refuse to load anything that does not meet the regulations. The office backs that decision every time.
The role suits a driver who already holds full ADR and wants steady, well-organised work rather than a different load from a different firm every day. Between dangerous goods jobs you take ordinary pallet and parcel work, so the van is never idle. You can work on a self-employed or employed basis.
What you will do
- Carry dangerous goods on dedicated vans in line with the UK carriage regulations
- Check UN number, class, packing group, labels and transport documents before loading
- Carry the right equipment and instructions in writing for each class
- Collect and deliver on time and take a photo and signed proof of delivery
- Report any spill, damage or incident to the office straight away
- Keep the van, equipment and daily checks in order
- Take ordinary pallet and parcel work between ADR jobs
What you need
- Full ADR certificate, packages, with the classes we carry
- Full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years, with no more than 6 points
- Experience of dangerous goods on commercial van work
- Careful with paperwork and willing to refuse a load that is not right
- Right to work in the UK and based within reach of Smethwick
